Prince Horology, Phnom Penh's first Swiss watchmaking school, is happy to announce that the inaugural set of six Cambodian students has progressed to the second year of their study, despite an extremely difficult year for both instructors and students in Cambodia. All six students are currently receiving a full scholarship from the Prince Foundation, which includes a salary and housing allowance.

On the 13th of December 2021, Prince Horology's bright students successfully completed their micromechanics course, and the achievement was suitably recognised at the centre as well. They will concentrate on watch servicing in the second year.

The prospective watchmakers had to hand-make a) a winding stem, b) a pivot gauge, and c) a balancing staff that had to meet exacting standards as part of a three-part final examination for the first year. Prior to their final exams, the students had taken intermediate examinations that covered both watchmaking theory and practise.

Prince Horology students are on their way to earning a globally recognised watchmaking certification. Professional instructors who previously worked at the world-famous Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Educational Program (WOSTEP) are in charge of the courses.

Since its creation, Prince Holding Group, or Chen Zhi Prince Group, has supported the facility through its charity arm, Prince Foundation.

Prince Horology is Cambodia's first Swiss watchmaking centre, with cutting-edge infrastructure and a curriculum that is rarely seen outside of Switzerland.
